Children's Harbor
is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, provides free and confidential counseling and support services to children with long-term serious illnesses as well as to their families, and we provide camping and retreat facilities for these children and families as well as for other children with special needs. Children's Harbor was officially dedicated in 1990 to the memory of Adelia M. Russell.

Wind Creek State Park is nestled outside Alexander City on Highway 128 (off Highway 63 South).  Park facilities include the largest state operated campground in the United States with 642 sites, many of which are waterfront sites allowing campers to fish, swim and boat right out their back door. Other facilities include a marina, camp store, fishing pier, hiking trails, playground and picnic areas with tables, grills, and shelters.

Lake Martin Amphitheater holds variety of events during the year including Fourth of July Fireworks and Celebration, and Blast from the Past, both sponsored by Russell Lands.  The world-famous Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery is one hour away and Birmingham Museum of Fine Arts is one and a half hours away.

Annual Fireworks and Celebration show, sponsored by Russell Lands, Inc., draws thousands to Lake Martin each year.   Spectators gather to watch this spectacular event by boat and from the Lake Martin Amphitheater.  Musical entertainment is provided with the gates opening at 3:00 pm.  If you come by land, be sure to bring your lawn chairs, coolers and picnic with your family and friends.

Alexander City Sportsplex offers many different sporting activities as well as hosting state, regional and national athletic tournaments.  Some activities include:  Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball, City League Basketball, Alex City Youth Football, City League Youth Tennis, City League Adult Tennis, Youth Wrestling, Youth Soccer, Horseback Riding Club, Swimming, Archery and Dancing.

Horseshoe Bend National Military Park the only national military park in the state.  Rangers and volunteers bring history to life through living history demonstration.

Alex City Jazz Fest is an annual 2-day jazz festival, one night in downtown Alexander City and one night on Lake Martin; active arts council which sponsors several cultural events during the year including plays and musicals.

Annual Oktoberfest offers a variety of food, fun and entertainment.

Lake Martin Churches

Church in the Pines
is a non-denominational church offering Sunday morning services from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  It is located off Highway 63 at the south end of Kowaliga Bridge.

Children's Chapel
is a non-denominational church offering Sunday morning services after Labor Day until the Sunday before Memorial Day.  It is located at Children's Harbor, across the highway from Church in the Pines.

Church of the Living Waters
is a non-denominational church is located in the StillWaters community off County Road 34 near Dadeville. (Services Memorial Day - Labor Day at 9:30 am)
